| Description | Around 10 days back I was uninstalling speedfan thinking it was 4.31 version when infact it was 4.32, with the program running in the background(i forgot to exit speedfan before uninstalling). I then closed the program and prceeded with uninstall. But after Speedfan 4.32 was reinstalled, all the 3 fans that used to be montitered showed up with 0 speed. Now the HDD temperature is also not detected and neither under SMART status. Since then I have reinstalled windows as the last step but to no avail. I understand there has been a previous post about this issue but since there was no response for that I went ahead with the new issue post. I'd like to apologize beforehand for that. | ||||

You need to RUN AS ADMIN in order to see SMART status. And your hard disk driver must support the relevant system calls. If you are already running it as admin and you don't see any SMART data, then it's the driver's fault. In order to see fan speeds, enter CONFIGURE / ADVANCED and set FAN DIVISOR to a higher value (8 should do). |

Thanks for the quick replay! Tried the steps but no go. The driver could be causing the HDD issue, but the fans still report as 0 even after setting all 3 fan's divisor to 8. Nvidia Ntune reports fan speeds correctly, as shown in BIOS also. |

Report sent. HDD issue is now resolved after chipset driver reinstall. |
