Summary | 0000942: CPU fan speed control works like a charm but CHASSIS fan doesn't
Description | Hi alfredo and everyone! I have this annoying problem with the chassis fan on my Asus A8N-E (IT8712F): i have set all pwm modes to software but still nothing happens. Both fan speeds are visible and divs set to 8. Tried enabling q-fan controller from bios but that didn't help. This says in the manual: the q-fan function is supported using the cpu fan and chassis fan 1(currently in use) connectors only and the chipset fan is synchronized with the cpu fan. Is there any other way than switching to the chipset fan connector or to the chassis fan connector 2 ? Best regards

CHA1 and CHA2 can't both have speed sensing fans (3 wires) as it messes up the fan controller. If both fans have 3 wires disconnect the yellow wire on one of them. |

SpeedFan supports a lot of features of the IT8712F. You can find additional settings in CONFIGURE / ADVANCED. Asus uses different strategies and I can't say a final word on what Asus put on each motherboard. Usually SpeedFan can change fan speeds if the relevant circuitry is in place. You simply need to find out how the circuitry is supposed to work. |
