PlatformGigabyte 8IPE1000-GOSWindows XP ProfessionalOS VersionSP2 + latest
Product Version4.32
Summary0000941: temperature readings seem very high
DescriptionGigabyte's own temp monitor ('easytune5') claims my idle CPU temps are around 90F and under prime95 torture test they approach 120F, while SpeedFan reads over 20F higher than this, and can hit 145F during the torture test.

I don't know which to believe.

Steps To Reproducerun speedfan, note cpu temp,
run gigabyte easytune5, note cpu temp
Additional Informationfyi, its a i865PE based motherboard, with a 3.06GHz P4 'northwood' 533Mhz FSB CPU, not overclocked, with a Zalman 7000-alcu cooler at 2400 rpm, in a very well ventilated box (2 exhaust 80mm fans, 1 80mm intake fan, Antec case + truepower supply).. my SATA disk drives report 93F, 106F, and 97F (and they are definitely warm to touch).

oh. motherboard is gigabyte 8IPE1000-G Rev 4.x... apparently the different revs of this board vary widely in layout.

Only the manufacturer can know whether a temperature offset is needed and its value. You can set such an offset in CONFIGURE / ADVANCED
