Summary | 0000905: Unable to control fan speed
Description | Since a recent format I have been unable to get SpeedFan working. No hardware has been changed, just the hard disk has been wiped and Windows XP SP2 has been reinstalled. Regardless of what percentage I set the fan speed at, the fan remains on full. I have adjusted the desired and warning temperature so I know this isn't the cause. Occasionally when I start the program I get a load of error messages popping up (about 1 a second) and the program has to be killed using task manager. See attachement of error. I'm a little confused at the moment as I've used the same setup with SpeedFan for a number of years with no problems until now. Any help appreciated!

I've just tried using XPC Tools (fan/temperature control program for Shuttle PCs) and the program will not load. Perhaps there is a universal Windows component used by system-monitoring-type programs that hasn't been installed correctly for some reason? I also tried adjusting fan speed using the BIOS, which works correctly. |
