Summary0000789: [Asus M2N-E] Incorrect voltages - Incorrect Fan rpm
DescriptionI've got an Asus M2N-E.

Looking the motherboard (chipset Nforce 570 Ultra) I observe that it has a IT8716F monitoring chip (SpeedFan detects it as IT8712F don't know if that matters).

The voltages detected are wrong. The values shown in BIOS, Asus PCProbe (and my digital multimeter :D) match, but Speedfan shows incorrect values
(i.e: 3.3V -> Tested & BIOS: 3,37 - Speedfan: 0V (?)
        5V -> Tested & BIOS: 5,2V - Speedfan: 4,9V
       12V -> Tested & BIOS: 12,25V - Speedfan: 11,7V)
VCore also doesnt match at all.

There are 6 fans, but only 2 are detected (CPU and CHAFAN1). CHAFAN1 match, but cpu fan rpm's are incorrect (for example: shows 5000 rpm when really is 1700 rpm).

CPU and Motherboard temperature are show correctly. But only the 2
Additional Information(I'm from Argentina, so excuse my poor english).

Excuse my terrible English, I'm from Russia.
Unfortunately, SpeedFan 4.32 (on Windows Vista Home Premium) detects IT8716F on my ASUS M2N-E as IT8712F too. Only 3 FAN speeds are shown (see attached screenshot), but their values are very big - FAN1 = 132500 rpm, FAN2 & FAN3 = 675000 (BIOS monitors 6 fan speeds). Voltages detected are incorrect, but CPU & mobo temperatures seems to be correct.
Month ago I tried to use SpeedFan 4.31 on Windows XP Pro SP2 and experienced the absolutely same problem.

:-(
The same occurs whit SpeedFan 4.32.
Only 3 of 6 fans detected and the numbers are stuck at 1350000 rpm's.
Only one core temp is show (the second one).
It seems that VCore2 correspond to 3.3 volts line. (3.3 shows zero actually)

Same issues occur with Asus M2N-SLI motherboard (nForce 570SLI chipset, same IT8716F sensor)

Here's the datasheet for this sensor chip: www.iteusa.com/product_info/file/pc/IT8716F_V0.3.zip

Product page: www.iteusa.com/product_info/PC/Brief-IT8716_2.asp

Lavalys Everest reports 2 sensor chips: ITE IT8716F (on ISA 0290h) and Analog Devices ADT7475 (on SMBus 2Eh) for this motherboard.

Hi Alfredo!

SpeedFan 4.32 does not see all my fans in my system and when it does detect
a few it reports the wrong speed. Modifying the fan div by 20 is still
not even close enough to the real speed.

Please help!

Details:

I built a system using the Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard (Nvidia 570 chipset), with an AMD AM2 X2 4600+ cpu, 3 hard drives and a Asus 7600GS (silent) graphics card.

I have 4 fans installed: 2 Antec Tri-Speed 80MM fans, and 1 Nexus 92
MM blowing across my hard drives, and my cpu fan - a ThermalTake 92?
MM fan.

The motherboard is configured as follows: Enable Q-Fan (dynamic fan
speeds) for both the cpu and chassis fans. The profile is setup for:
"Optimal" settings for both cpu and chassis fans (other options
include silent and performance).

Installed Everest Hardware Monitoring Software

Sensor Type ITE IT8716F + Analog Devices ADT7475 (ISA 0290h, SMBus 2Eh)

Is being detected in Speedfan as IT8712F rather than 16F. Any way to force the detection as 16F?

Added two screenshot comparing SpeedFan 4.33 final with Everest.
Speedfan still detects IT8716F as IT8712F and other values appears with extrange numbers....

I will read the datasheet again to see if voltage circuitry has changed.
SpeedFan 4.33 proeprly detects IT87xxF chips. Consider that the hardware monitor part of those chips is shared between different chips. SpeedFan internally knows the SuperIO chip model, but for its task it needs to know the core revision of the hardware monitor subsystem.

Just that you know...
I have same issues Incorrect voltages.

After I stopped CPU and other fans (Smart Guardian -> ON/OFF mode), I cant go back to Smart guardian mode, Fans wont start

My old motherboard (M2N-E SLI) video card (ASUS Nvidia GeForce 7600GT ) detected only one temperature sensor (+Ambient), now on (m2n-e) detects tow (+Ambient)
