Summary0000721: RAID/IDE controller is not recognized / Harddisk sensors does not appear
DescriptionI've installed a Sandberg "Silicon Image SiI 0680 ATA/133 Controller" and added two harddisks to this controller. They appear in the disk manager and are fully functional.

However, when I launch SpeedFan, it does only recognize my other 3 harddisks, which obviously means that SpeedFan is unable to recognize the IDE controller or something like that.

I've tried installing the software that comes with the product, "SiICfg for Medley", but this does not give any SMART information, nor does it make the drives available to Speedfan.
Steps To ReproduceInstall the card, add drives, restart the computer and launch speedfan. the drives does not appear to speedfan.

Same thing with a Gigabyte 8SQ800 ultra raid mobo.
No raid drives are accessible in speedfan.

Usually this happens when the driver is not supporting the relevant calls needed to access SMART data. There is little that can be done here. You might try to update the driver. If you manage to contact the manufacturer to receive the documentation needed to access, if any, custom calls, feel free to let me know.

My server had a Syba Silicon Image SiI 0680 ATA/133 Controller running until recently with two Maxtor 200GB drives mirrored.

Speedfan 4.31 recognized the RAID set when initializing, listed it in the Temperatures tab under Configuration, and reported one drive temp for the pair.

I recently added two 200GB Seagate drives, also mirrored, and Speedfan recognizes the second RAID set when initializing, but does not list it in the Configuration tab and does not report the drive temp for this pair.

The boot drive which runs off the motherboard controller is recognized and reported.

I tried reinstalling Speedfan to see if it would pick up the second set of RAID drives, but there was no change.
