| Description | I am running (2) AMD 64 machines. One is an Athlon 64 3700+, and the other is an Athlon 64 X2 4400+. On the single core machine the new K8 core temp runs very close to the usual CPU temp (1 or 2 degrees Celsius sometimes less sometimes more but very close). On the other machine the K8 core temp is always much hotter than the usual CPU temp (7 to 9 degrees Celsius higher). Both machines run at 100% load 24/7 running Folding@home. I can verify the CPU temps with several sources such as Everest, Asus Probe, etc. I am concerned that my X2 machine is running too hot. The Tcase max temp is only 57c. Should there be such a difference like this? Thank you. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | These are how the readings always are since upgrade to Speed Fan 4.31. I can reproduce, and check the CPU temps with Everest, Asus Probe, Sandra, etc. The new K8 core temps I can check, and verify with the Central Brain Identifier program on the X2 processor only. | ||||

Thinking that the small Overclocking may be the culprit on the X2 machine I reset all to stock specs. Still get Core temp 9c to 10c over the reported CPU Temp. Average CPU temp @ 100% load 34c - 38c Average K8 core @ 100% load 45c - 49c. Athlon 64 3700+ still nearly the same: @ 100% load K8 Core actually 1c - 2c lower. |
