Description | The Notebook Acer Aspire 1310 has the AMD athlon XP processor. This CPU however, produces a lot of heat and even with the technology PowerNow! the 'normal' temperature is around 60-70 C(!). For this reason I'd like to set the fan to run at a low speed all the time. Unluckely, SpeedFan doesn't recognize the fan. I already tried with the trick CONFIGURE / ADVANCED and select a higher FAN DIVISOR but this is not possible since no fan appears. | ||||

Alfredo, I was wondering whether this motherboard could be added to the SpeedFan list of working hardware. The motherboard can control the speed of the fan but not very smoothly. I imagine SpeedFan could do it much better! Chris |

I'm working to add support for such hardware, but it's not easy. Consider that on my very own Acer notebook I can't even read any temperature. No tool can, actually. |

Alfredo, SpeedFan can properly read the temperatures of both, the CPU and the HD. I've checked that with another software 'mobmeter' (http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Oakland/8259/) and both tools give the same CPU temp. I hope this can help your work.
