| Description | Installing speed fan 4.28 on my home built pc has this strange problem. The monitor just blanks out at random if I leave the pc on for a few hours (or overnight). The lights are still on the pc, I can hear the fans, but the monitor is blank and it doesnt respond to any mouse of keyboard input. The only way out is to turn off power. If I dont have SpeedFan running (it is still installed), then this problem doesnt arise. Very strange. | ||||

I forgot to mention that the motherboard is an Asus P5GDC-V Deluxe. |

Not so strange if your video card is overheating due to the reduced fan speeds from running speedfan |

Well, I am using SpeedFan just for monitoring temps/rpms and not for controlling any fans. I dont think this is temperature related as it happens most often when the computer is left on for a few hours (such as overnight) when the ambient temp is down and computer activity is also quite low. |
