| Description | since i've changed my three p-ata drives (all of them recognized by speedfan) with two Hitachi IBM 7k250 drives (s-ata, 250gb each) smart doesn't work on them. Onboard controller is a Silicon Image 3112 with raid capabilities, but not used. SCSI properties of both disks (taged queue and syncro transfer) are unchecked (so active) in device manager. The first one is recognized only sometimes by speedfan, and sometimes it keeps monitoring temp for all the working session (also for many days without rebooting), and sometimes it reports the right temp, and then switch to 0 degrees and never changes it again. The second one is NEVER recognized. i tried to monitor temps with other sw (Everest Home ed.) and it works fine. | ||||

I have the same issue on 2 motherboard 1- A7n8x Deluxe with 2 SATA drives MAXTOR identical (80Gb) => Both drives are detected but speedfan enables only SMART for the first one 2- A7n8x-e Deluxe with 2 SATA drives Hitachi T7K500 (320Gb) => Both drives are detected but speedfan enables only SMART for the first one => When they are mounted in a RAID array, no information is available anymore in the SMART tab while the SMART RAID Drive capability is detected. |
