| Description | Starting speedfan either shuts off my fans or lowers their rpms to a point where i can no longer hear them, causes computer to overheat, and computer will not POST until it has been unplugged for a minute or so. Computer is a stock Sony Vaio VGC-RB52, Dual Core 2.8ghz 1024MB RAM Integrated Graphics, sound, LAN. | ||||

Which is the hardware monitor chip? |

I'm not sure what sort of hardware monitoring chip is installed. How would i find this out? |

Please, use the UPLOAD FILE facility on this page to post here the result of the SEND REPORT button on SpeedFan's INFO tab. By the way: Intel Active Monitor collides with SpeedFan. On my two Intel Server Boards I removed it to use SpeedFan alone. You might simply need to set, in CONFIGURE / ADVANCED, REVERSE PWM LOGIC to TRUE. You need this option if your fans stop at 100% and run full speed at 0%. |
