| Description | I am currently using version 4.19 of speed fan which controls the CPU fan speed. Every version above 4.19 I have had NO ability to control CPU fan speeds no matter which speed option I use, speed01, speed02 or speed03. With version 4.19 speed01 controls my CPU fan speed. | Steps To Reproduce | Run speedfan 4.19 -> CPU Fan speed changing okay. Uninstall speedfan 4.19. Install speedfan 4.26 -> CPU Fan speed changing okay. REBOOT Run speedfan 4.26 -> CPU FAN SPEED CHANGING NOT OKAY!!!!! | ||||
| Additional Information | I think I have narrowed down the problem to the service (perhaps???) When running speedfan 4.19 everything is good, once uninstalled 4.19 and install 4.26 then everything still works (CPU fan changing speeds). Then reboot, once reboot is complete and back into XP, run speedfan 4.26 and you are no longer able to control CPU fan speed settings. | ||||

Issue Resolved, determined error, reinstalled speedfan 4.26, deleting any previous version custom cfg files. Read notes on improved support of IT8712F chip, followed instructions, CONFIG > ADVANCED Found problem, See steps bellow Uninstalled 4.19 Deleted c:\Program Files\speedfan directory Installed 4.26 Followed splash screen instructions on improved support for IT8712F chip GOTO Config > Advanced Verified setting of PWM 1 Mode = Software Controlled Reboot Run Speed 4.26 Able to change cpu fan speed = NO GOTO Config > Advanced PWM 1 Mode SETTING WAS CHANGED AFTER REBOOT WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE PWM 1 Mode != Software Controlled NOW = SmartGuardian Changed value of PWM 1 Mode back to PWM 1 Mode = Software Controlled Able to change cpu fan speed = YES Reboot Run Speedfan 4.26 Able to change cpu fan speed = YES Program working normally, all systems GOOD. |

You missed the popup message that any version subsequent to 4.19 popped up informing you that there were some new code that greatly improved IT8712F support. It is written both on the online history page and on the included changelog. All you have to do is enter CONFIGURE / ADVANCED and read the help file relevant to that section. |
