Summary | 0000373: Can't change fan speed & problem after standby
Description | I can't change my fan speed on my Dell Inspiron 5160. This isn't a real problem because the integrated fan control works fine. The only problem I have is that after standby mode, my fan rotates with max speed. When I close speedfan before going into standby, all works fine. When I disable 'use 100% fan speed on exit speedfan' all works fine too. But I think this isn't the correct solution here because I don't exit speedfan...

Do you mean that by unckecking "Set fan speed to 100% on program exit" SpeedFan enters and exits from standby with no problem on your hardware? |
|
Yes - every morning I open my laptop I have to restart speedfan (and now as I wanted to report the problem I found out that it works fine when I uncheck this checkbox). |

Ok, after a lot of tests I found out that this seems to be a Dell bug. My fans also run on full speed when I've closed down speedfan before standby sometimes. The only thing is that with speedfan this happens every time. |
