| Description | SpeedFan casues Jerks and Skips when playing music. i have closed all other programs to figure out what was the problem frist of all. I then reinstaled a fresh copy of Windows XP Pro music was working fine untill i installed SpeedFan in which i started getting the problems - when i turn it off - music works fine - no jerks, skips etc. i have listed my system specs - just in case. - lol i also seem to can't control fans - the fan control on SpeedFan is a MUST :) System Specs ----------------------------------------------- Abit AN8 SLi [UGuru] - Using AudioMax 7.1 Sound AMD64 3000+ Venice 2x256MB DDR400 Kingston HyperX ATi Radeon X700 Pro 128MB FSP 350Watt 24Pin Vantec NX Fan Controller - controlling CPU Fan ----------------------------------------------- | ||||

forgot to tell you - using a Seagate 80GB SATA NCQ - i checked your forums and came upon anther person who had the same prob as me - i have diabled SmartScan using switch - /NOSMARTSCAN also i have noted that the ACPI temp is missing i use to have it on my Intel P4 Machine but i don't seem to have it on my new AMD64 machine. i am looping Eminem - Stan for a few housrs to test but please still check the WinRar pack i have uploaded as it contains a access vio error print screen and no fan control print screen. |

ok this is for all the people who are having probs with their auido - ALC850 codec or any other. SpeedFan 4.24 disable s.m.a.r.t scan for your hdd - this is the cause of the problem. use switch /NOSMARTSCAN on your shortcuts then test by playing any mp3 track 5 times and listen to it carefuly. hope this helps any 1 who has any probs with auido. |

Can you confirm me that /NOSMARTSCAN fixes the issue? If the answer is YES, then it should be considered an issue in the nVidia HD driver as SpeedFan does nothing else but calling some standard functions. |

I think it could be the nvidia hd drivers after all. they are old and need to be updated. sorry for the prob's alf. I enabled the smartscan and it has not casued any issues with music. If any one has issues with their music disable the smartscan. [ /NOSMARTSCAN ] possiable that it could be the nvidia hd drivers casuing the porbs sorry for the many post as well - lol |
