Summary0002494: SpeedFan cannot detect fans on Surface Pros
DescriptionI own both a Surface Pro 1 and 4, and SpeedFan is not able to detect any fans in either. Knowing Microsoft, they probably used some proprietary protocol. It does read all the temps fine, though.

I have Surface Pro 7. Same issue. Today is 2020-07-06.
