DescriptionI have a 120GB drive in my computer.
When I plug my 500GB USB drive and start SpeedFan, the 120 goes missing, the 500 uses the other's name and its SMART data is mixed up

While I agree that SpeedFan might assign a short name to drives that is somewhat perfectible ;-), the drive model, firmware, serial and SMART data is always correct. If this is not your case, then there must be some kind of bug in the driver.
The problem is that the same hard disk might be reachable using multiple methods. The latest beta has slightly changed the order used to test each method. There was a rare case where one method "seemed" to be working, thus blocking the next one to be picked up.
If I understood your last message, the latest beta fixes this issue. Is this correct?
