Description | Using version 4.21 at the moment on system MSI NEO4 Platinum, with current config: MSI NEO4 Platinum AMD64 4000+ with Zalman CU7000A 2* 512MB A-Data PC3200 XFX GF6600GT + Zalman VF700CU 3*Maxtor diamondmax10 200GB SATA on Nvidia controller NCQ enabled Chieftech Dragon Miditower Zalman 400APS PSU Liteon LTD-411S@811S Liteon LTR-48125S JLMS XJ-HD166S Whever Speedfan is runing (executed) and playing audio from 1 of my Sata hdds sound is hicking up. This problem clears when I disable Speedfan again.
Steps To Reproduce | Issue is rising when Speedfan is executed and playing audio from each sata harddisk via mediaplaer 10 or Winamp 5.08. Audio is then hicking which is realy no acceptable. Core center from MSI doesnot give that issue. Issue is cleared when Speedfan is exitted. Changed driver versions on Realtek chip from 5.10.0.5760 to 5.10.0.5790 but no sollution issue stays.

To wirehub: With my ASUS A8N I have a similar problem. Every few seconds or so, the system seems to pause briefly, for maybe a 100 milliseconds. About once a minute, maybe more often, the pause is several 100 milliseconds, sometimes exceeds half a second (observed using the OGRE demos, which display the longest time elapsed between consecutive frames). This can be very annoying when watching a film or playing. Interestingly, the sound does not hiccup when watching a film. For me the video hiccup is less frequent when I disable WinFox, the monitoring utility that comes with my Leadtek GPU, which has functionality similar to SpeedFan. Stopping SpeedFan does not have a noticeable effect. Stopping everything that is not essential makes the problem go away. However, that includes firewall, anti-virus, stoppable services, everything. The ALC850 on the mainboard was also on my list of potential hiccup-causes. Mainly in an attempt to get rid of the hiccup, I bought and installed a PCI soundcard (Audigy 2). The card did not resolve the hiccup issue, but I'm still very glad I bought it, because it improved game sound so much (HL2). If you play this game, do yourself a favor and get a sound card that hardware-accelerates EAX. The difference was like full screen vs. one ninth of it. |

I have tried the new Beta, but system is crashing more then once unfortunatly, I'll keep continuing with MSI core center then |
|
Ok. I tried to find a meaningful reason for this, but I think the only solution will be to track down the cause for this issue. Please, run SpeedFan with any combination of the following command line switches: /NOSMARTSCAN /NOSMBSCAN /NONVIDIAI2C Since you are talking about the WinFox utility, I would try first with /NONVIDIAI2C. Depending on your hardware, SpeedFan will not be able to access something. |
|
I have changed from Realtek driver version to Nvidia drivers and also loaded beta speedfan 4.24 beta 26. I now can use Speedfan together with all programs that are using audio :-) |
