Summary | 0000194: fan control for nvidia geforce cards
Description | It is possible to control the fan speed of the gpu fan on some geforce cards e.g. with the EXPERTool from gainward (http://www.gainward.com/html/download/ utility/expertool/expertool.htm). This works at least with the 6x00 cards from Gainward and MSI. It would be great to have this feature in speefan too.

I have no datasheet for nVidia and nVidia never answered any email (actually, recently I was even unable to find any email to write to...). I hope to find some info in the near future. |

This is an old post, but I didn't want to create a duplicate just the same. I have an EVGA e-GeForce 6800 ( http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/N343.pdf ), and am wondering the same thing. I was surprised to find that with SpeedFan 4.26, I can see the temps reported by the GeForce 6800, but can't control the fan speed. Just a note for anyone who might happen to read this: Until SpeedFan supports this, RivaTuner can be used to control the fan speed on certain video cards ( http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner ). |
