| Description | Controlling the fan speed for both the CPU and the case fan worked with exactly the same hardware under Windows XP 32bit SP3. After installing Windows 7 64bit SP1 the modification of the fan speed values has no effect anymore. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Start SpeedFan and manually lower the fan speeds by using the up and down buttons or entering the values (automatic fan speed checkbox disabled). | ||||

Most likely you only need to enter CONFIGURE / ADVANCED and set PWM MODE to SOFTWARE CONTROLLED. It's in the help file, if you need further info. |

This solved the problem, thank you! It was years ago since I last changed those advanced settings and therefore I did not remember that they were the crucial part. SpeedFan worked as expected during all those years. Thanks to the SpeedFan team for their great work! |
