| Summary | 0001921: Freeze System during startup when using ASM 1061 SATA3 Controller with a SSD attatched | ||||
| Description | During SMB scanning at startup, it freeze the whole system. PC must be shut down with power off button. This happens after I installed a new Delock 89299 PICe card with 2xUSB3.0 and 2xSATA3 port. And only freeze when I attatch a SSD on the SATA3 port. It has no issue with USB 3.0 device. This Delock card use ASMedia 1061 chip for SATA3 controller. Speedfan 4.45 and prior are all the same. | ||||

Just found out, also normall hard disk (none SSD) connecting to the ASMedia SATA3 port causes a system freeze during speeddisk startup. |

Tested on Q67 Mainboard, no such freeze under win7 nor xp. |

Please, try to run SpeedFan with /NOSMBSCAN command line parameter. If the issue disappears, please perform a SMBUS DEBUG procedure (it's outlined in the help file) and send me the resulting debug file by email. Thank you. |

Sorry, I don't have the SATA3+USB3 card anymore. I have installed it onto a Gigabyte P35-DS4 board and had no problem with speedfan either. So can't use it to provide you any detail now. The card is a Delock combi card, fyi. |
