Product Version4.41 beta
Summary0001715: "Unable to save to C:...speedfanparams.cfg"
DescriptionI just re-installed my OS (Win 7 64bit) on an SSD as a dual-boot system. My programs are on the SSD & user data is on a typical HD. I modified the registry entries to save default user files (music, downloads, documents, etc.) to this HD. After installing Speedfan 4.42 I get:

"Unable to save to C:\Program Files (x86)\Speedfan\speedfanparams.cfg

When I check this location there is no .cfg file. "Show hidden files" is enabled.
I also looked for a Speedfan install location in Users\Apps but see no folder or entry.

I also checked outstanding issues and see similar ones posted, but none seem to be resolved.

I suspect this has something to do with my dual-boot system and that a registry entry or something technical is involved. Any leads very much appreciated. I am a silence enthusiast and Speedfan is of high priority. Thanks so much

You might change permissions for that directory.

Success! For some reason the boot drive SSD install and the creation of a pseudo-user while installing W7 resulted in the folder having limited permissions. It seems to be writing now and the .cfg file was created. Thx.
