Summary | 0001703: CPU Temperature not reported correctly after resume from sleep - v4.42
Description | On resuming from sleep the CPU temperature is wrongly reported as approximately 30 degrees hotter than it actually is. This is the only temperature sensor which is effected. The temperature sensors for the motherboard, hard disk drive and the graphics card remain correct. It may be an issue with the sensor chip as Everest 5.30 also reports the incorrect temperature after the resume from sleep. I verified the correct temperature by immediately closing the PC down after the resume and looking at the BIOS figures. The configuration is: Win 9x:NO 64Bit:NO GIVIO:NO SpeedFan:YES Found nVidia GeForce 6200 Scanning ISA BUS at $0290... SuperIO Chip=Winbond W83627UD-A Winbond W83627HF (ID=$21) found on ISA at $290 Scanning Intel SMBUS at $0400...
Steps To Reproduce | Let the system enter sleep mode and then reactivate it.
Additional Information | This is not urgent for me as I was using SpeedFan to monitor the temperatures as part of an exercise to discover why the PC freezes during graphically intensive tasks. It does not appear to be temperature related. I thought you might find the information useful for bug fixing. Thanks for your great work Alfredo.
