Additional Information | Original Seagate Barracuda (7200.11) 1TB died after only 20 months. Fresh factory recovery install on new WD hard drive. | ||||

Speedfan (and any other program) needs to run with admin privileges to read SMART data. |

There is no problem with WD drives in general. I'm using a WD Caviar Green (1TB) and never had any SMART issues. |
