Summary0001597: Speedfan crashes when Dell Mode is selected
DescriptionI've completed a clean install of Speedfan 4.40 and 4.41 Beta 9 executable and Speedfan loads correctly initially. I see tempratures, but i don't see any fans. So i selected the Dell option and restart and hope i see fans now, but instead i receive a "Privileged Instruction" error followed by "Access violation at address 0064DD83 in module 'speedfan.exe'. Read of address 00000038", when i click configure. And when i exit the program i get: "Access violation at address 0063D7C3 in module 'speedfan.exe'. Read of address 00000038"
When i disable speedfan access through isabus and smbus, i don't get this error but the program disables the dell option automatically.
I attachted the debug file!

Exactly the same thing happens here. Dell Vostro 1320. Win 7 32-bit. Run as admin.

Both SpeedFan 4.40 and 4.41b11.

Can I provide more info to help you solve the problem?

Will the fan speeds be adjustable, once the bug is fixed?

I poked about a bit on Google, and it works if you run speedfan in Windows XP compatibility mode (I think SP2, but play around with it).
