| Description | Speedfan(sf) works perfectly when I am logged on to and am on that same user page. However, if I "remember it"..ie.save the settings and leave that user account(even if still logged on), the sf logic appears to "freeze" and lock onto the last fan speeds that were active (the fan speeds won't change no matter what the temp. I have to manually reset the PWM fans from manual back to automatic and then log off to return the fans to M/B control. I also set up speedfan as a "service" several different ways as specified....same thing happens. The service appears in Task Manager...but the logic doesn't change the fan speeds. Do I need a setup folder under system32 ? I tried different user amd administrator accounts to no avail. I run "Folding@HOME" quite a bit, it would be great if I could just set my fans up and the system would run under sf control no matter who is logged on and also when everyone is logged off. | Steps To Reproduce | Just set up fans as needed, change PWM fans #1,2&3 from auto to manual and then leave that page. The fans will stay stuck at what ever speeds they were running at when you left that page, whether you save the settings or not. The same thing happens if you run sf as a service. I tried many different User accounts as a service,etc.... I even turned of UAC, no chenge....the service starts but no (active)fan control. | ||||
| Additional Information | Speedfan works buitifully....I just am tired of having to reset the PWM fan controls from auto -to manual -back to auto every time I go to my "Folding@home" account. | ||||

I tried moving the "SpeedFan" folder from C:\Program Files (x86) to "system32", which didn't work. I then moved the "SpeedFan" folder to the C:\ directory, this finally worked for me !!!!!!! I used the srvany/instsrv method to install as a service and now it runs in the background no matter who is logged on. Now I can settup my F@H-smp to run as a service with the cooling system running as I need it to in the background! I can finally get some sleep now ! THANK'S SPEEDFAN Robbie L.
