Product Version4.40 beta
Summary0001538: Fanspeed controls don't work(Asus K8N-VM).
DescriptionI've tried with 4.40 and 4.30 versions. The program measures and displays(with the same RPM as Everest) "Sys fan" and "CPU0 fan" speeds and offers to me 4 fields for fanspeed control, but none of then affect my system and cpu fan duty. They are connected on the CPU_FAN and CHA_FAN board connectors.

Also there are displayed voltages and temps which seems to be correct according to the other measuring software on my computer.

And I have no other fan control software installed.

Get our your manual for your mobo and see if the connectors (channels) that you have the fans plugged into support speed changes. On my Asus P6T Deluxe v2 it clearly states in the manual that the PWR-Chan does not support RPM changes.

Are your fans three pin or four pin? My CPU fan channel on my mobo is a four pin connector, the fan is three pin, from what I can figure out for the CPU fan to change RPM the fan has to be four pin.

My mobo also has connectors for fan channels 1, 2 and 3. These are 3 pin connectors and Speedfan will change the speed of these fans (3 pin connector fans), but all three are changed with one speed setting, they are tied together on the mobo and all three fans are controlled as one.

Thank you for that note! I forgot to write that I've only 2 fan connector with 3 pins each and that my CPU does not support the "cool and quiet" technology. But it doesn't help much. In my manual there is no information about the ability to control the fans manualy. Also they haven't even notice that I have a chasis fan connector on my board. It's noticed only in the bios chapter and says, that there is measuring for that fan, but that's all.

Edit:
According to the post bellow:
My motherboard doesn't support Q-Fan.

I have a newer Asus mobo with a similar issue. There doesn't appear to be support for the CPU fans however I can control the chassis fans.

I know you say you don't have any other fan software installed, however does your board support Q-Fan? If it does you should install it and run it before you run Speedfan, this appears to unlock the abilities for fans.

Obviously if you haven't got Q-Fan support then this post is useless.

Please, enter CONFIGURE / ADVANCED. If you have any PWM MODE option, try to set them to MANUAL or SOFTWARE CONTROLLED.

To be more clear, I've uploaded an image. See SpdFn440.jpg. There are 4 options for PWD modes 1, 2, 3 and 4. For PWM type are only two- PWM or DC output. I've tried with any possible combination of PWM mode and PWM type with no succcess.
