Summary0001387: Not trying to make thing difficult for you but Dell has put up a number of road blocks
DescriptionI have a Dell Inspiron 530 with a dual core E2200, 2200 Ghz and after search for the motherboard type, you would have thought it was a state secret. After going through manual, including technical manuals, the only identification I could find was that it Inspiron 530 system board, model A, B, C, D or no letter designation.
Steps To ReproduceHere is where I see a problem, and I hate to say that about a program that I find Really Nice, but apparently because I had a dual core processor, your program is seems to be identifying it as having two CPU fans and two case fans. There are two and only two fans in this system. One on the heatsink of the CPU and one case fan. From the IT8718F chip I am two core temps, each with a spot for CPU fan (pwm1) and each with a spot for a case fan (pwm3). They both also have pwn2 which goes no where. Next I have a chip entitled INTEL CORE but it also references the IT8718F chip and again I double up on the fans.
Additional InformationI was able to compare some of the settings with a different HW monitoring program (much less friendly, and much more limited). It came up with three fans which is still one two many but closer to reality. And I think it was getting its readings from sensors both in the heatsink and on the CPU. This is a guess on my part but I noticed that the respective readings staying within a certain range. Last, and maybe least, the other rather watered down pprogram also listed the video card GPU temp. But on your system I was getting a reading from an ACPI chip. Neither system picked up on my USB external drives.
