| Description | My new PC (Compaq SR5610-F) uses the Nvidia chipset and S.M.A.R.T. data is not readily available. In fact the SATA drives don't even exist in Speedfan. All drivers are up-to-date. However. you are not alone! HDDLife doesn't work, neither does ActiveSmart. Lavalys Everest finally sorted it out and another small program - CrystalDiskInfo20 - also works. But none have access to your reference database! | ||||

| Additional Information | I'm a long-time user of Speed-Fan. The feature I now find most valuable is the ability to compare the S.M.A.R.T. data from my hard drives to the database. Closely followed by "Exotics" and "Charts". Any thoughts when SpeedFan might be able to get "Smart" with SATA and Nvidia? A link to the lengthy Lavalys discussion is - http://www.lavalys.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2378&st=40. The suspicion all over the web was that Nvidia drivers didn't support S.M.A.R.T. Perhaps the problem is in fact the method they chose to support it? I did search the Forum - hopefully I didn't miss references to this issue. If I can help, just let me know how. Regards.
