Summary | 0001322: Speedfan forgets settings after reboot
Description | I tried several times to configure SpeedFan, all is succesful until I need to reboot the machine. Speedfan seems to throw away my configuration and resets it. All Fans and Speeds I deselected are selected again. The names I have given them are gone. The minimum and maximum settings for the Speed are gone. The temperature thresholds are brought back to default Etc. etc.
Steps To Reproduce | It only happens when I reboot the machine. When the machine stays on the configuration will stay in tact. Even when I close Speedfan and start it again, the configuration is still there. Speedfan seems to remember some thing, for example Logging function stays enabled etc. I tried to backup the CFG files and overwrite them after the reboot, but that doesn't seem to work.
Additional Information | I'm using an Intel 945 mainboard (White Box 945GSU, made for Philips Mediacenter). I'm using a Pentium D 3.4 Ghz that causes the mainboard to set the fanspeed to 100%, because the board does recognize the Pentium D, but the bios officially supports up to 3,2 Ghz.

I'm trying speedfan on win 7, after putting it on task scheduler, when the task starts the settings are changed:fan is going faster, and it is not displayed in tray bar(but this can depend on win7 beta 7000) |
|
Please, make sure that you are running SpeedFan with the same credentials (same user). |
|
Did you try to use the latest beta? |

Is there an IT87xxF chip on your motherboard? |
