Summary0001319: 2 HDD's, connected to single SATA cable, make SpeedFan half-mix them.
Descriptionhttp://the-arioch.livejournal.com/1227.html

As you can see, SMART data over those hard drives is unreliable at least.

For example deep analyis of SMaRT would prbably send drive ID and SMART values of different drives, making the analysis bigus and polluting the ir database with unrelated values.
Additional InformationIs it similar to 0001271 ?

SpeedFan does not mix drives. It's the driver that returns bogus data. SpeedFan avoids to show false data and understands that it received two copies of the same SMART data.
If Silicon Image wants me to support his own internal calls (if any) my email is open.
The fact that the report sent to my server might contain bogus data is taken into account when the model is built out of receive reports and outliars are dropped. It takes about 12 hours to create a new model out the reports using two computer (one for the computation and one with the RDBMS).
