Summary | 0001245: Can't control the fans
Description | I did already talk about crashing speedfan or whatever it was. I reinstalled Windows and installed a fresh original copy of WinXP x64 Professional, then applied SP2.... And installed all drivers etc. It just doesn't work whatever I do..... the fan speeds can not be controlled... On WinXP Pro x86 which I had before on the same motherboard (Gigabyte 965P-S3) it worked really fine as it should. Nothing was changed since then, just the OS was reinstalled 2 times.... What can I do?

SpeedFan can do several things. When you say "it doesn't work" what do you exactly mean? I assume you refer only to fan control. Which SpeedFan version did you use in your previous installation? Did you enter CONFIGURE / SPEEDFAN and set PWM MODE to SOFTWARE CONTROLLED or MANUAL? Sometimes, users forget that they were using older versions, that they updated their BIOS, that they applied some new settings or that a user supplied configuration was downloaded. |
