I changed the category that you chose for this bug report. CLOCK CONTROL was obviously wrong, so I changed it to HARDWARE SUPPORT. It seems that the manufacturer of your motherboard didn't connect things to the hardware monitor chip the way the hardware monitor chip was supposed to. There are datasheets that clearly state what must be connected where. Motherboard manufacturers are free to do what they want, but I wouldn't blame SpeedFan for this. -128C means that a temperature sensor is simply unused. Usually there are other sources for reliable temperatures. Unless you own an old CPU, SpeedFan should be able to read its correct temperature. There is really no way for SpeedFan to burn any fan. Perhaps I missed or misunderstood something in your message.
That said, I'm sorry to see that you had a bad day on your own and I hope that writing some free offences did help you to feel better. At least, SpeedFan was useful somehow.
I will leave this thread open for some days, just in case you have some other life troubles and need to discharge.
Have a nice day.

P.S.: at least, I appreciate the fact that you marked this issue as "minor" :-)
