Summary0001075: Changing fan speeds wil make the monitor break into flickering squares - hard reboot necessary
DescriptionSG33G6 (G33 chipset)
Onboard video
2x2 gb Corsair XMS extreme
Samsung Spinpoints 160 / 250gb
Sapphire Theatre Pro 550 (TV-tuner card)

Well, the title says it all: Speedfan loads fine, I am able to change settings in "advanced", but whenever I try to change the fan speed of the ICE (or even try to change the fan speed on a setting that says =rpm) the monitor breaks into a fascinating flicker of a multitude of colours. I can't see a thing and the only option available is to press the reboot button until the computer shut off completely.

I have a feeling that the problem relates the use of onboard video, but other than that i haven't got a clue. I took a photo of the screen with my digital camera.
Steps To ReproduceLoad Speed fan. Change fan speed of fan 01 on the "readings" tab. Instant flickering screen. I've done it three times now.

Nice picture indeed. I would like to remind you that not necessarily a fan control is a "fan control". Often there is no 1-to-1 relation between fans and "fan controls". On the W83627HF, for example, there are three rpm fan readings and two pwm controls (fan controls). On some (rare) occasions, the PWM is used for different tasks. This might be the case.
If you upload here the result of a SEND REPORT I will have a look at it.
