| Description | I know that this is a known issue with 4.32, but I've tried 433 build 9, and it hasn't changed any: I recently rebuilt my system with Vista. Logged in as administrator, speedfan worked perfectly (although even though I have an Abit nforce4 mobo, and a GeForce 7900, I didn't get any additional readings with 433) I then logged in as a regular user, and notice that half of speedfan's readings were gone. No ACPI, no disk drive temps, no SMART, the CPU util graphs don't display, and if you exit speedfan, it seems to exit, but still remains listed in task manager (you have to kill it). I've tried reverting back to 4.32, have reinstalled by running as administrator, giving the user account full permissions to the speedfan directory, made the user account an Administrator, etc. etc., but cannot get speedfan to work properly when run as any account that's not 'Administrator'. So, to sum it up, speedfan works perfectly if I log in as administrator, or launch it by choosing run as administrator. Else, half its features are missing. I love speedfan, and am miffed that this longstanding important issue doesn't seem to be addressed with your public beta, your FAQ, and only seems partially addressed in the current bug reports. Vista introduced a lot of changes and I'm dealing with them, but those related to ADMIN rights require a complete refactoring of the code. I'm working on it, but it's not an easy task. |

Off : starting with the GiveIO signing thing to the headache of rewriting much of the code I'm afraid Alfredo you are not a big fan of ms and vista. And what if the service pack will came out? Seems ms needs to rewrite many parts of the code of their crappy new OS either to make it usable. I really hope it wont affect SF much!!! What a waste of valuable time... |

I had to have UAC (User Acount Control) turned off also. SMART doesn't work on my computer otherwise. |
