Part of temp incorrect problem solved. Needed to DISABLE PECI and then restart computer after completely removing power (simple shut down/restart not sufficient). CPU Temp now more believable (35 deg idle) Still have to bias core temps +15 deg to get plausible values from them |

How do you know that the chip is ...EHG?? |
|
Please, use the SEND REPORT (INFO tab) button and add a reference to this issue in the notes. I'm not sure I understood everything. A report with actual figures will help me. As far as the detection is concerned, there might be an error in the datasheet. If you have a picture of the chip and you are absolutely sure about its name, add it in the notes. I will double check my docs. When I will have the report I will be able to see more about the 6800. |

Do you have any update? |
|
Just asked somebody to take a look at his P5K-E and tell me the name of the chip and he confirmed that it is "DHG". So I don't understand why rbarkas thinks it might be "EHG". @alfredo Somehow there seems to be a problem with the fan speed control on that board. Two people reported that they cannot control fan speeds. I tried everything with them, didn't work. Latest BIOS, Q-Fan enabled/disabled, latest version of Speedfan, XP/Vista, running Speedfan with admin rights, changing pwm mode, gave them my config files (P5B Deluxe). Nothing worked. Do you have any idea what else to try Alfredo? Unfortunatly, the discussion is in german so linking it won't help. |
