Summary0000845: xAP Settings not remembered.
DescriptionHi There,

When restarting the application or the PC the xAP settings are not remembered. If I enable xAP then close the application and restart, xAP comes back as disabled again. I then have to re-enable xAP. This causes problems on the xAP network as the devices then need re-configuring on my xAP application.
Steps To Reproduceclick xAP to enable. Exit the application and then go back in again. Check the xAP configuration.
Additional InformationI checked the config file and the xAP settings appear to be in there, but they just don't seem to be pulled into Speedfan when restarting.

I'm also seeing the same problems here.

xAP support is great as I use loads of xAP apps - would be nice if speedfan could remember the setting :)

I fixed it in the new beta. I should release it in a few days.

Hi Alfredo,

The xAP bug now seems fixed but another bug has reared it's head. The bug is not directly related to Speedfix but rather how it handles xAP devices. Every time Speedfan starts it appears to recreate the xAP devices. This means that any application that reads the xAP information on the network needs to re-create the devices. An example. I use Homeseer to track the temperature information. When I first use Speedfan, Homeseer picks up the new Speedfan xAP devices and adds them into its database. Once Speedfan is restart, the old devices no longer get updated and Homeseer detects new devices. I can only assume this is due to a different device Id or simular that is generated when speedfan is restarted.

I will try to find more inforation.

As far as I can see, the UID needs to be specified by hand in CONFIGURE / XAP. Do you see a different UID from external tools?

Hi Alfredo,

I am not sure what caused this or what I did to fix it, but it all appears to be working now. The devices are being remembered and all looks good. I guess it could have been a problem with my xAP Conduit not saving the settings.

Many Thanks

Marc
