Summary0000802: No way to disable notification popup on program start
DescriptionI'd like to run speedfan on a number of public machines I administer at a public library. We have problems with dust leading to overheating, so it would be nice for me to be able to check the internal temp at a glance. The only problem I've run into is that I don't want the public user to even notice the program, but it insists on popping up a "Sensors Detected" message above the tray at startup. I can't figure out how to disable it--could you either add a toggle for it, or just let me know if there's a reg or other hack to turn it off. Thanks.

AFAIK normally the popup message appears only if some of the monitored hardware changed or new hardware added (eg. a new hdd) IMO you'd better to send a report with SF and a mail with a link to this entry to Alfredo to help investigate the problem.
Also try the new 4.32, it's just out today! ;)

TOMH is correct. Are you sure that SpeedFan can write to the hard disk? At the very least, allow SpeedFan to write its files at least once, so that it can see that nothing changed from the last start.

Thanks for the responses. I've upgraded to 4.32, same issue occurs

Re: writing to the hard disk. I thought that the combination of a limited account and/or Windows Disk Protection could be responsible, but the popup sometimes occurs with the admin account, as well. I don't know what could possibly be preventing SF from writing to the disk with an admin account. Oddly enough, when logged in as an admin, two sensors appear: HD0 and AMD K8; logged into the limited account, only the processor shows up.
