Summary | 0000672: Removing SpeedFan doesn't remove GIVEIO, even when I ask it to.
Description | I tried removing SpeedFan. First time, I did not choose to remove GIVEIO file. I did not remove the file manually. When I reinstalled SpeedFan, then removed SpeedFan and choose to remove GIVEIO, it didn't really get removed. Is this file really necessary without SpeedFan? Why also does comment SpeedFan generates (asking whether you want to remove GIVEIO) have a smiley face? Is there something unsaid? I really want to use SpeedFan, but with this and the other bug I reported (very high speeds for system and CPU fans), it is not as useful as it could be.

As far as I know GIVEIO is removed by the uninstaller. May be there is some other process that is keeping it opened. The reason why the installer asks whether you want to remove it or not is that there are several tools that use it. Some tool might have put it in an unusual directory too. |
