Interesting. I will investigate.

By the way: are you sure that hard disk temperaratures should be used to control a fan located somewhere not only on the hd?

Hi Alfredo,

To your second point:

This fan, conrolled by the hdd's, is in a high position of my towers (I have 2 machines with same setup).

In case of high temperature of the hdd's the fan runs and evacuates air out of the sealed tower. This pulles fresh air in the tower - from homemade :-) 5,25" Inlet's right in front of my HDD mountig brackets. This air , passing by the hdd's is good enough to reduce the temps alot.
Cooling works very nicely. :-)

This setup saves me from mounting 40mm fans in the hdd-area, which are not really silent.

There are some more "controlled" inlets for fresh air. 1 in area underneath graphics-card, and another one in CPU area.

A Minimum of fresh air is always moved into the tower by the fan in the powersupply. (130mm fan, very quiet, automaticly regulated).

- But this air is in case of big filetransfers not quite enough for the hdd's, therefor an addional fan controled by hdd temps.

-------

I think the problem of regulation results in the fact that only in case of "blue arrow down" the fans are slowed down. As soon as temperature rises, - let's say from 18

Hi Alfredo,

I did some further thinking on the regulation of the fans.

If I get it right:

1. Fanspeed doesn

Hi Alfredo,

"As far as I know, on 99.5% of computers where SpeedFan is run at boot the temperature reaches one of the highest levels because the CPU is used for a long time."

Yes of course, but the time while system is booting up, fans run at 100 % anyways, because speedfan starts in the later part fo the bootsequenz.
My CPU reaches 48

I'm looking for the best solution to the issue you highlighted, which is that on some specific configuration (i.e. mixing hard disk temperatures and other temperatures to control a single fan) the algo is too slow to lower fan speeds.

Sounds good, and might be a good improvement not only for me, but for many others, who might face the same situation.

Thanks for the fast reply,

Regards and a nice weekend.....
