I've got the same problem even with the newest beta (4.29 beta 7).
SpeedFan is currently running on my laptop with only one NIC. All common possibilities of misconfiguration have been eliminated.

When you use your browser to choose your motherboard model and the specific configuration file you want to download, you contact the web server from a specific IP. The IP must be the same when you access the web server using SpeedFan for the actual download. This means that you can't ask for the ticket on one PC and then download the configuration on a different one. There is a time frame too (half an hour, if I properly remember). Make sure that you use the same PROXY in your browser and in SpeedFan.
If you get a "different IP" error message and you did nothing apparently wrong my guess is that you are using some kind of http proxy (included in some all-purpose firewalls that often mess with almost everything) that is working on top of the browser, but not on top of SpeedFan. If the proxy causes a different IP to appear to the web server, this is the reason for the message.
An alternate reason would be if you are using some kind of anonymizer, public proxy or the likes. Simply use the same proxy in your browser and in SpeedFan.

Thank you very much! This resolved my problem. I was using a HTTP proxy and forgot to specify it at the respective configuration tab within speedfan.
