Summary0000450: Random Lag with a8n32-SLI
DescriptionEver since I started using speed fan I'm experiencing very random, short, periods of lag that do not occur when the program is not in use. For example, if I play quake 3 every so many minutes I'll get a random half second pause. Pauses also seem to correspond to when fans are changing speeds, but not always. Sometimes there will be a pause even when there are no perceptible changes in fan speed.

I also see this behavior when at the desktop. I'll be listening to winamp and there will be a half second blip in the music. If I disable speedfan I don't get these problems but my fans will run at 100%. If there's anything I can do to help resolve this issue please let me know. If there's some kind of log feature that will give you pertinent info please let me know how to enable it.
Steps To ReproduceEnable speedfan, start q3. Lag ensues every couple minutes. Same periodic lag when using winamp. Issue does not occur if I close speedfan.

Try to use the /NOSMARTSCAN switch. Try to update hard disk drivers. NVidia hdd drivers do have some odd behaviours. On my nForce2 based board I reverted to MS drivers after several serious issues.
