Summary | 0002658: Speedfan causes pops and clicks in audio stream
Description | I was experiencing idle temps in my Dell Precision T5500. I installed Speedfan and set up a more aggressive fan curve than the BIOS. That reduced my idle temps to about 38C. However, I began hearing pops and clicks in my audio. I tried two different sound cards (Soundblaster Z and M-Audio Revolution 7.1) and got the same results. As soon as I quit Speedfan, the problem went away. I have to go to Configure>Options and check "Enable DELL support" before Speedfan can even detect my fans. Once I do that, the program detects all 3 system fans and lets me control them. I realize that I am NOT using a laptop, but Speedfan is useless without enabling that option.
Steps To Reproduce | 1) Install Speedfan 2) Enable Dell support 3) Use Fan Control to set up a custom fan curve. 4) Play audio stream
Additional Information | Speedfan does not detect either of my video cards.
