Summary | 0000262: Added into an unattended Windows XP installation
Description | I have added the SpeedFan v4.23 installer into the RunOnceEx portion of an unnattended Windows XP SP2...I want the programs sorted into sub folders in C:\Program Files by category...(ie Audio & Video, System Tools, etc). Most of the programs do not have a commandline switch to alter the installation folder and install silently...I attempted to use a JS file to script the installation of Winamp but that just came up with errors finding the file...anyway the problem is that Speedfan installed fine but the shortcuts on the Start Menu have no associated icons... I was only able to see this briefly before leaving for work this morning... I do not know whether the shortcuts function or not... I will add to this bug post as soon as I get home...(which will be in about an hour... Esentially, I was thinking that there may be a variable in place in your code that associates the icons to the files on the harddrive and even possible the link to the files... Would it be possible to request this be changed to a non-Windows standard variable that way the Shortcut, as soon as added would reflect the fully qualified path to the file/icon? Also, have you a list of command line switches for the installation of Speedfan? If you have a command-line switch for the INSTALLDIR then changing the shortcuts reference would not be a issue...

Sorry, I forgot to mention that in order to install the programs to the categorized folders I use a reg key that alters the ProgramFilesDir in the registry under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion |

nevermind the problem is not limited to speedfan |

I don't know if there is any switch available. I do use NULLSOFT NSIS setup. I will try to see for some options. |
