Summary0000255: Asus V9999 Fan Control
DescriptionSpeedFan is unable to control fan speed. Temperature monitoring works OK. Setting fan mode (manual/temperature/etc) in F75375S properties works only if fan control settings are set up in SmartDoctor each time system boots up (for example, setting fan speed to 20%). Also, if fan speed is set to automatic control, it drops to minimum value (without actually changing fan speed, of course).

Do you mean that entering CONFIG / ADVANCED and changing PWM MODE doesn't allow you to change fan speeds, but that you know for sure that can be controlled?
Could you send me a SEND REPORT (INFO tab)?

I mean that SpeedFan doesn't control fan speed. If I switch PWM to Temperature, fan speed changes _because of the driver_. If I switch to manual, nothing happens because default driver setting for fan speed is 100%.
But if, after system boots up, I start SmartDoctor, change fan speed for manual settings to 20%, close SmartDoctor, start SpeedFan and _then_ switch to manual, fan speed changes to what was set in SmartDoctor (i.e. 20%). Yet _changing_ speed from SpeedFan doesn't work at all.

Report is on the way. :)

have this issue as well. I have an asus 6800TD/128mb. Speedfan (4.27) does recognize manual control, but will not let temperature or speedmode control the fan. For my ASUS card only not-so-Smartdoctor will change fanspeed properly. The SD software however has some major flaws and I prefer speedfan.

Finally in version 4.27 SpeedFan is capable of controlling fan speed. Unfortunately another problem appeared - sometimes (I haven't noticed any dependencies) SpeedFan "locks" GPU temperature reading. I.e. at some moment GPU temp suddenly freezes (PCB temperature reading is OK). Therefore launching some application that puts load on videocard raises both temperature, but SpeedFan reports only PCB temperature raising. Launching SmartDoctor helps, again, to restore SpeedFan functionality - GPU temp goes reading OK, until another failure.
