Summary0002535: PWM4/5 Speeds
Description1.
PWM4/5 speeds are higher than PWM1/2/3 when Software Controlled.
All PWM speeds result in equal RPMs when controlled by SmartGuardian/BIOS.

BIOS controlled speed: Manual - 0.75 PWM/°C
(I tested CPU_OPT/PWM2 but removed the fan = same speed as PWM1/3)

2.
If Speedfan was launched with software control, fans spin up and down after reverting to SmartGuardian at runtime. (Hardware limitation?)

3.
Speedfan switches all case fans off on startup (27%, initialization value?) and then back on (40%, Advanced Fan Control) when software controlled.
Additional InformationFans on PWM2 - PWM5 are Noctua NF-P14s.
Fan on PWM1 is a Noctua NF-F12, fan speed on screenshots is not representative.

SYS_FAN1 = PWM5
SYS_FAN2 = PWM3
SYS_FAN3 = PWM4
CPU_OPT = PWM2
CPU_FAN = PWM1

You might have to just disable your bios fan control completely in order for speedfan to control properly.

Before I disabled mine speedfan would control my fan initially but then switch back to smart control (bios).

Also not all fans have same RMP values at fan percentages, even if it's the same model fan from same manufacturer. There will be some variance.

I can not disable fan control in BIOS. However, I tried 'Full Speed' and noticed that PWM4/5 fans always stay at full speed, regardless what Speedfan is set to.
I blieve that's related to the problems PWM4/5 caused on the ITE8620E. I have a Z97X-D3H and it instantly reboots if I change fan speed on PWM4/5.

Are you able to control cpu_fan or cpu_opt with Speedfan ? I own a Z97XSOC. I don't recall being able to control them with speedfan. Thanks.

I can control all fans and switch them off.
