Summary | 0002504: Manual fan speed tweak works incorrectly. It doesn't adjust the fan speed but seems to set the maximum speed instead.
Description | I installed Speed Fan a week ago and it worked like a charm. Just recently the manual fan speed tweaker changed it's behavior. It used to set my fan speeds like it's suppose to, from the % tweaker. Now it doesn't set the speed of the fans but rather (by the looks of it) the max speeds. When I change my pmwmode to "software controlled", the fans go to 0% like it says on the tweaker. When I start increasing the percents, the fans start spinning faster. When I go beyond the speed that the fan would normally run at, increasing the percents have no effect. When I put my cpu under some stress, it goes as fast as the tweaker allows it. So it seems that the tweaker only changes max speed. I would like to have full control over the fan speeds. I've reinstalled the program, I've tweaked some BIOS settings with no effect and looked for solutions from the internet. I haven't installed anything new. All the BIOS and Speed Fan settings are identical to when it used to work properly. I just can't find a solution.
