Summary0000244: IDE drive in a Firewire box can not be queried
DescriptionI have a 120GB Seagate drive in a Firewire box with the Oxford 911 chipset. Is it possible to read the SMART info (specifically temperature) from this?
Steps To ReproduceClose Speedfan (or leave it running)
Power on the firewire drive.
Open Speedfan
Click on the Smart tab
Can't select the 2nd drive, just the first drive
Additional InformationThe Seagate 120GB drive in the Firewire box is the same as 2 others I have that have the temp data available via Speedfan, if connected to the IDE bus.

It is up to the box's drivers to allow access to SMART data.
