Summary | 0002395: v4.51; ATI R9 200 Series GPU Fan Control -- Auto Control Issue
Description | Can't control fan speeds automatically on ATI R9 280 GPU; gets "SetFanPWM - Error [f=6]" when automatic fan speeds are enabled. However, SpeedFan IS able to change the speeds of the GPU just fine by either enabling "Set fan speeds to 100% on exit" and then exiting, or by accessing "ATI Video Card at $0 on ISA" under the Advanced tab and then setting the mult/div setting to something else--this will either increase of decrease the fan speeds just fine. Thus, it appears that SpeedFan can access and control the fan speeds for the GPU, but it will not do it automatically.
Steps To Reproduce | Go to Advanced fan control and create GPU Fan controller; Set speeds and temps as usual; Tick automatic fan control; get error and no fan control.
Additional Information | I have sent a report via SpeedFan concerning this issue.
