Summary0002361: SpeedFan preventing HD from turning off
DescriptionSince getting a new computer and upgrading SpeedFan to 4.50 (4.52Beta4) i have noticed that my secondary storage harddisk never turns off anymore when i dont use it.

After some testing i found out that when i start SpeedFan and it comes to
"Found SAMSUNG HD154UI on AdvSMART" the harddisk will spin up and be kept alive while SpeedFan is running.

I had some mixed results with unchecking the temperatures for the harddisk and have been able to get the harddisk to spin down again while SpeedFan is running.

I'm suspecting that somehow the temperature readout is keeping the harddisk from going to sleep.
Steps To ReproduceThis requires 2 harddisks as the disk that windows is on obviously wont go to sleep (I use a SSD).

Set harddisk to turn off after 1 minute under power management.
Wait for harddisk to spin down
Start SpeedFan (Disk should spin up)
Wait for 2~5 minutes (Disk should still be spinning)
Additional InformationLike how "ISA BUS" and "SMBus" can be unckecked under Options a checkbox to unckeck "AdvSMART" would be usefull.
