Summary | 0002256: Hard freeze on startup; may be HDDs? |
---|
Description | 100% repeatable system freeze on application startup with HDD access light on. Last message displayed before freeze is "Scanning I2CNVidia SMBUS at $3B405051..." but looking at the attached debug.nfo, it seems that it made it past this point and was checking SMART status of attached drives. I will test again after removing unneeded drives, but will submit this report first so it isn't lost. |
---|
Steps To Reproduce | Start speedfan, at least with this configuration of drives connected. |
---|
Additional Information | Tried disabling ASUS and NVidia services, too... same result. The Intel controller is in RAID mode, with four HDDs on ports 0-3 in a Raid 5 configuration accelerated by a SSD on port 5. The remaining Intel port (4) is set to hot swap and currently has a SATA->mSATA adapter attached with a Crucial m4 mSATA SSD. The system boots from a SSD on the motherboard's ASM1061 SATA controller to which no other devices are attached. Blu-ray and DVD recorders are attached to a Silicon Image SiL 3132 SoftRaid 5 controller (not configured for RAID). A Samsung S2 Portable USB HDD (298GB partition) is attached; this appears as a regular USB HDD. A USB 3.0 mSATA case appears as a "USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device" (120GB drive; currently has a 35GB hibernation partition from another system and 76GB unallocated). |
